COLLEGIATE Baseball. Take the
kids out to the ball game. They’ll enjoy watching the all-American game, close
to home. Basketball. While
the men’s basketball team had a few rough years, they’re back on track with a
new coach, new players and a whole new attitude. BYU basketball has all the
excitement and intensity of watching the game in a professional arena, without
the professional price. And the
women’s team continually ends each season with a winning record. Cross Country. Both
the men’s and the women’s cross country teams are of the best in the nation and
are continually ranked first in the Mountain West Conference. Football. The BYU
Cougars are a winning team that is invited year after year to various bowl
games across the nation -- 21 bowl games since LaVell Edwards took hold of the
coaching reins 27 years ago. In addition to the bowl games, the Cougars can
also be found nationally ranked in the AP and ESPN polls. Golf. BYU men and
women are putting around, but that’s just par for the course. Gymnastics. The
women’s gymnastic team approaches each event with the grace of swans and the
strength of bulls. The team continually awes audiences and breaks individual
and team records. Soccer. Again, the
cougars prove their prowess, but this time its not in just an all-American
sport, its in the worldwide passion -- women’s soccer. Softball. While the
ball maybe soft, the women play hard. Swimming and Diving.
After competing against BYU, collegiate men’s and women’s swimming and diving
teams often find themselves mopping up their pride off bottom of the swimming
pool floor. Tennis. BYU’s men’s
and women’s teams continually lead their division. Track & Field. Whether
it be men or women, indoor or outdoor the Cougar track teams take home the
gold. Volleyball. In 1999,
the BYU men’s team returned from the NCAA tournament with a No.1 ranking. The
women’s team also bring home the high-rankings, almost always in the top 10. Basketball. Both the
men’s and the women’s teams put on a good show and a good game for their
Wolverine fans. Baseball/Softball. With
strong pitchers, infielders and outfielders and a new stadium, UVSC baseball
and softball teams bring America’s favorite pastime home to Utah County. Cross Country/Track & Field. Both the men’s and the women’s teams have the guts to attain the glory. |
