just zomething about the final letter of the alphabet that makes Utah sports fans crazy. Is it Utah Jazz fever? That’s
part of it, but the frenZy doesn’t end with professional basketball. In fact, Utah has a professional or collegiate
sport for every fan. PROFESSIONAL Salt Lake
Stingers (Formerly Buzz) The Triple A
baseball team plays at Franklin Covey Field in Salt Lake City. A Pioneer League
affiliate of the Anaheim Angels. Will
play in a brand new stadium being built by the City of Provo. The International
Hockey League team plays at the E Center in West Valley City. In 1980 the New
Orleans Jazz moved to Salt Lake City. Sure, some snickered at first thought of
the Jazz moving to Salt Lake City, but it didn’t take long for them to realize
that the Jazz and Utah were indeed a perfect match.. The Jazz constantly plays
for sell-out crowds in the Delta Center and players like Karl Malone and John
Stockton are hometown celebrities. The boyz ain’t the
only ones that know their way around the Delta Center court. Just when you’re
about to cry because the Jazz season is coming to an end, the WNBA Starzz
season begins. The World
International Soccer League team plays in the E Center in West Valley City. This professional
outdoor soccer team plays at the U of U stadium and is a member of the USL. |
