How Long Does the Home Buying Process Take?

Unless you're paying in cash, you can expect anywhere from 7 days to 90 days to complete your purchase.  It could take as little as a week if you know what you want, find it immediately and have been pre-approved for a loan.  Of course, if you don't know what you want or if your desires don’t match your financial qualifications, you could be searching from now until the year 2020 and still not have a home of your own.  Ultimately, you control how long it takes to find your home.  Once you are ready to make an offer, the process can be rushed through in a few days, but typically takes about a month or so.
